Worship Services
Offered Sundays at 8:00 am and 10:30 am. Here we come together to praise our gracious God and learn more about him. We come into God’s presence mindful of our sins and confessing them before him. Receiving his forgiveness we are empowered to join our hearts and voices in praise and worship. There are stirring hymns, choir selections, tone chimes, and always an emphasis on what God has done for us in Christ. The Scripture lessons and sermon, together with the music, centers on the theme for the day. We give due emphasis to the historic church year, which itself proclaims the great acts of our salvation. The sermons are based on a text of the Bible, and explain and apply the Scriptural truths to your everyday life. We invite you to experience this living worship for yourself.
The services are identical, so come to the one that fits your schedule. A recording of the sermon is available right after the service from one of our ushers. Ask them for a free copy. These tapes are great for reviewing the sermon, and for giving to a friend who wants to learn more about the Bible.
Adult Bible Class
Every Sunday morning at 9:15 am - and repeated on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 - we offer Adult Bible Classes. Here you'll benefit from in-depth Bible teaching and have the opportunity to have your questions answered. We promise not to put you on the spot in the discussions. Join in as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. For many, this is the time to be encouraged and refreshed as you prepare yourself for another hectic week.
If you’re just beginning to learn about the Christian faith, you might prefer to attend our Bible Information Class. This also meets Sundays at 9:15 am in the Fall (and in the Spring on Thursday evenings at 7:00 pm). Here you can learn the basic teachings of the Bible and prepare for membership at St. John’s, if you so desire.
On Sundays, the children have the opportunity to attend our Sunday School classes while you are in the Adult Bible Class. Come, and make it a family affair!
