Grades 7 & 8

     Mrs. Bartholomew teaches grades 7 & 8 and also serves as our principal. She has many years of experience in the classroom and has a great report with the children. Her classroom discipline is designed to ensure that every child can learn.

   In these grades the children develop great skill in any number of subjects, preparing them for entrance into high school.

   Their Christian education continues primarily under the tutelage of our pastors who instruct them in the teachings of the Bible from Luther’s Small Catechism. Supplementing this, Mrs. Bartholomew teaches them additional Bible history and hymnology. At the conclusion of the 8th grade year, the students are readied for the Rite of Confirmation, in which they confess their faith and pledge their undying allegiance to Christ Jesus. A public examination is held in front of the congregation where the students answer questions of Christian teaching, confessing their faith before all. The following week they pledge themselves to Christ and promise to remain faithful to him as long as they live.
